There are various ways of improving your web site and your search engine rankings on Google, Yahoo, MSN and other search engines, and I have listed a few below:

Keyword Research

There are many free keyword search tools available to do your research with.  Here are some of my favorites:

Google Adwords

Wordtracker Free Tool

You will see that Google Adwords come with wonderful videos and tutorials on how to use this very cool tool.

Keyword Searches:

Make sure that your keyword has not more than 1000 specific searches on for example Google.  You can check this by putting your keyword phrase between "" and doing a search.  For example: "candy floss" has 431,000 searches on google.  But you can dig deeper:  look for the long-tail-keywords to get to a better ranking.  If you dig a bit deeper, you will find that "candy floss machine wholesaler" have 7,910 searches.

Use Your Keyword throughout your page:

Always have your keyword in your heading of your page, your title and the page name.

Keyword Density

Make sure that you distribute some keywords throughout your content, maybe 3 to 4 times in an article of say 400 - 500 words.  You can use Textpad to count your words and also download it for free, Here.  This is a great free tool to use and it has a spell checker and also html code functionalities.. and lots more.
